Profile

Specialising in personal injury, Stuart has acted for both defendants and claimants. Instructions include employers’ liability, road traffic accidents (including credit hire and Motor Insurers’ Bureau), and cases of the utmost severity including brain injury, fatal accidents and spinal injury.

Drawing on his practical experience, having previously worked as a factories inspector for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Stuart is knowledgeable in most industrial processes and civil engineering work. Stuart welcomes instructions in employers’ liability as well as occupational disease, noise-induced hearing loss, defective products and criminal injuries compensation appeals. He also receives instructions regarding inquests, the armed forces compensation scheme and holiday sickness.

Stuart regularly receives instructions in costs matters and is skilled in this regard, understanding that it is an essential element of every claim. He also undertakes professional negligence actions arising from personal injury (PI) claims.

Stuart will accept instructions on a conditional fee agreement (CFA), with uplift, in suitable cases. All written work will be completed within two weeks. Urgent matters can be addressed more quickly, by prior agreement.

Stuart is regulated by the Bar Standards Board.
