Harriet accepted tenancy at Devon Chambers at the beginning of October 2024 after successfully completing pupillage under the supervision of Piers Norsworthy. Originally from Devon, Harriet graduated from the University of Plymouth with a First Class LLB.
Harriet continues to enjoy a varied common law practice.
With regards to Harriet’s criminal practice, she both prosecutes and defends, appearing regularly in both the Magistrates and the Crown Court. Harriet accepts instructions in a range of criminal work including trials, committals for sentence, appeals against conviction and sentence and probation breaches. Harriet is a Grade 1 CPS Prosecutor.
Harriet is often instructed on regulatory matters which are civil in nature but have a criminal background. Harriet is regularly instructed in applications including dog destruction orders, sexual harm prevention orders and matters involving firearms licences.
Harriet has a varied civil practice. Accepting instructions in small claims, credit hire matters, infant settlement approval hearings, property-related matters and licencing. She also enjoys a paper-based practice and regularly provides advice in relation to matters.
Since becoming a tenant in October 2024, Harriet has also been developing a busy practice in matrimonial finance matters.
Harriet is regulated by the Bar Standards Board.
