Gemma graduated from the University of Exeter with an LLB (Hons). After graduating she undertook the Bar Practice Course (BPC) at the University of Law Bristol where she attained a Distinction.
Gemma both prosecutes and defends, appearing regularly in the Magistrates and the Crown Court. Gemma accepts instructions in a range of criminal work including trials, committals for sentence, appeals against conviction and sentence and probation breaches. Gemma is a Grade 1 CPS Prosecutor.
Gemma enjoys a broad family practice including both public and private matters. Gemma is regularly instructed in private matters at all stages of proceedings, and she is often instructed to act on behalf of the Local Authority in public matters.
Gemma is regularly instructed in a range of civil hearings such as small claims arising out of road traffic accidents, credit hire matters and infant settlement approval hearings. Gemma is also often instructed in civil applications on behalf of professional bodies, such as the local police force.
