Sophie joined Devon Chambers as a pupil in October 2019. Her common law pupillage was supervised by Jason Beal, with a focus on crime. She became a tenant in October 2020.

Sophie was called to the Bar in 2019, having achieved an ‘Outstanding’ grade in the BPTC at the University of the West of England. She was awarded the Sir Robert Micklethwait Memorial Scholarship by Middle Temple and the ‘Bristol Law School Prize’ for the highest overall mark on her course.

Sophie is a level 1 prosecutor and she appears in the Crown Court and the Magistrates’ Court. She regularly prosecutes on behalf of the CPS and represents defendants in a wide variety of hearings. She also acts for probation and undertakes council prosecution work.

Sophie accepts instructions in civil and family cases. She has acted for parents in public and private family matters involving children and allegations of domestic abuse. She has represented claimants and defendants in small claims.

Before coming to the bar, Sophie had a career in the NHS as an Operational Manager. Outside of the law Sophie enjoys running and looking after her two dogs.
