Background:

Amy successfully completed a common law pupillage at Devon Chambers before spending six months practicing crime in Birmingham. She returned to Chambers as a tenant in April 2017.

Amy has gained a vast amount of experience in the Crown, Magistrates and Youth Courts, prosecuting and defending a range of cases including:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Offences Against the Person
  • Public Order Offences
  • Theft
  • Drug Offences
  • Motoring Offences
  • Appeals from the Magistrates to the Crown Court

Amy has been instructed in Crown Court trials and recently co-defended in an Affray trial where identification was the issue. She also defends in the Magistrates Court, recently securing an acquittal in a case involving the production of cannabis.

Amy has also developed experience in prosecuting and defending applications under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Amy is keen to expand her practice and accepts instructions in all types of criminal work and is a Level 1 CPS prosecutor.

Further to her criminal practice, Amy has experience in private and public family law work and looks forward to receiving further instructions commensurate to her call.

Further Information:

Amy was called to the Bar in 2012 and initially spent three years practising as a Solicitor’s Agent on the Midlands Circuit and gained extensive advocacy experience before both District and Circuit Judges. She dealt with a mix of civil work from insolvency to mortgage repossessions.
