Devon Chambers welcomes New Pupils (3)

Devon Chambers is delighted that Emma Cross and Althea Brooks have started pupillage in October 2017. Both pupils will undertake 12 months' pupillage under the supervision of Joanna Martin and Piers Norsworthy respectively and will be available for instructions from 2 April 2018. Althea Brooks is the Butterfield scholar for 2017-8.

Pupillage Window Deadline

Devon Chambers congratulates Plymouth High School for Girls

Devon Chambers would like to congratulate Plymouth High School for Girls on their success in the National Bar Mock Trials competition.  The winning team was mentored by member, Sally Daulton.

New Tenant welcomed to Chambers

Chambers is pleased to welcome Amy Edinborough as a new tenant. Amy successfully completed her pupillage with Devon Chambers followed by a third six at St Ives Chambers in Birmingham. Amy will join the criminal and family teams in Chambers. Her criminal work includes both prosecuting and defending; and she is happy to take instruction for all types of family law.  

International Women's Day Conference

Julie James, Chambers Manager, attended the International Women's Day conference held on 8th March in Plymouth. The conference was themed "Be Bold for Change" and speakers gave inspirational talks on promoting equality within the workplace, gender stereotyping and personal development using small but bold steps for change. Speakers included Ann James, CEO of Plymouth Hospital NHS Trust; Charles Hackett, Chief Executive of Mayflower 400 and Helen Roberts, The Bank of England's Head of Technology Delivery.

Emma Cross, who will be joining Chambers as a pupil in October, was part of the organising committee for this event designed to improve gender parity.
