Careers Talk at Truro College

On Wednesday 7th March, Rupert Taylor and Emma Cross gave a careers presentation to AS-Level students and their law tutors at Truro College. They enjoyed speaking to students about the various routes to the Bar; the relevant skills needed; and the rewards and challenges of life as a barrister.

There were many interesting questions posed by students and the talk was received well:

"Really reassuring. They mentioned different routes into the profession and that it was getting more representative ... they made is seem a realistic and possible career path."

"I thought the two barristers wre really honest about the career and talked openly about the benefits and pitfalls of being a barrister. It was really balanced."

The event was a great opportunity for Devon Chambers to encourage young people to consider a career at the Bar. We look forward to future talks at Truro College.
